Contract Release Form, Service & Refund Policies
Please Read the Following Carefully
Our policies have been created under legal advisement and are similar to those common to elective educational programs and other professional services, in that once a deadline has passed, a program has begun and/or materials have been sent and/or received, there are no refunds or transfers permitted, other than those specified in this document.
Refund Policy
Flying Dog holds a strict no-refund policy for drop-outs or cancellations within 24 hours of the first class. We do not supply a refund if you can no longer attend class for any reason. If you must drop out of class due to a recorded medical condition, a transfer to another class may be arranged at the discretion of the instructor: please see our service policies below.
Service Policy
Confirmation: All classes must be confirmed by payment. If your payment does not arrive by the agreed date and time and other arrangements have not been made, your reservation is immediately cancelled. Once your reservation is confirmed by payment, our refund policies apply. At that point you own only the dates, times, and services you have paid for.
Transfers Between Classes: If you must drop out of class due to a recorded medical condition, a transfer to another class may be arranged at the discretion of the instructor. Transfer between classes will only be permitted if space allows and the dog and handler are suited to that particular group. A small transfer fee of $30 will apply.
Missed Class and Make-Up Classes: Please make sure your schedule is in order before confirming your reservation. If you miss a class, contact your instructor to find out which exercises you missed. Homework sheets will be e-mailed to you. Practice these exercises at home and we will do our best to catch you up during the following class. For missed classes a make-up session can be scheduled at the discretion of the instructor for a small fee of $30.
Excusing Clients From Class: Flying Dog takes great pride in our classes and services as well as our clients. We reserve the right to excuse any client from class without refund at our discretion for any of the following reasons:
- The client endangers or is disrespectful to the instructor or other students.
- The client endangers or is inhumane to any animal in class.
- The client allows their dog to run off-leash in or around our facility unless asked by the trainer to remove their leash.
- The client uses physical force and/or punishment with any dog or person.
- If the trainer feels a client's dog presents a risk to other dogs or people. Please discuss any aggression concerns with your trainer before registering for any type of training.
Aggression: Flying Dog classes are not appropriate for any dog who has displayed aggressive tendencies (barking, growling, snarling, lunging) towards dogs or people. Our primary goal of classes is safety, therefore we do not allow any fear-aggressive dogs in class. If your dog exhibits aggressive behavior towards other people or dogs you will be asked to leave class immediately without a refund. Please discuss any concerns with the instructor before registering for a class. Private training is recommended for dogs with aggression issues.
Weather Cancellation: Flying Dog will cancel classes when bad weather creates unsafe driving conditions. Flying Dog uses information provided by The Weather Network and Environment Canada to make informed decisions and will cancel classes when there are "Extreme Weather Warnings". Please respect our decisions to keep our clients safe. You will be notified as soon as possible by phone if your class will be canceled.
Session Start Dates: Flying Dog reserves the right to change session start dates due to limited enrollment. You will be contacted as soon as possible if the date of your class cahnges.
